Compassion, sperm whales, dead brains, and people dancing to Eric Lewis playing Coldplay. What a day we had at TEDxBerkeley!
We couldn’t have been happier with the way the event turned out – everyone was excited and passionate about coming to a TEDx event, and we’re just happy to have been able to share the TED experience with more people. While it’s easy to post an organizer’s perspective of TEDxBerkeley, it seemed like a cooler idea to recap the event using our own attendees’ comments, reviews, and photos:

Hey TEDsters,
Artist Drue Kataoka created “A Small Step” to commemorate the first ever TEDx Berkeley: Doing the Unprecedented. In the spirit of TED, the meaning of the painting is up to you the viewers and TEDxsters. It’s a bear in a space suit, walking on the moon, but what does that mean? This original piece will be signed by the speakers and TEDx team.

Just wanted to let you know that the HUB is hosting a viewing of TEDxBerkeley happening live, and right across the street from the UC Berkeley campus. Good news: they have space, a projector, and internet to host a viewing.

Robert Strong has been crisscrossing the world since 1985 entertaining audiences large and small, young and old, formal and casual, and everything in between!
Recently voted “San Francisco’s Funniest Prop Comedian,” “The Bay Area’s Best Performer,” and “San Francisco’s Best Comedian,” Robert has appeared on CBS This Morning,performed for the United States Congress, and taken his act to more than 30 different countries.

Nanxi Liu has studied piano since she was 6 years old and loves all genres of music. As a member of Cal Community Music, Nanxi enjoys playing music with fellow Berkeley students and hopes to collaborate with more students on campus. Last summer, Nanxi was a volunteer piano teacher and believes that every student should have the opportunity to learn music.
