1. What is TED?
 TED is an annual event where the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share their passions. “TED” stadns for Technology, Entertainment, Design – three broad subject areas that are shaping our future.

 

2. TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organised TED event. 

 

3.  TEDxBerkeley?!
Started in 2010 and hosted on the UC Berkeley campus, TEDxBerkeley is one of the largest TEDx events in the world, featuring over 1200 attendees every year. TEDxBerkeley is organized by the Regent’s and Chancellor’s Scholarship Association, the recipients of the highest university honor awarded to undergraduate students. 
 
4. How are attendees selected?
Anyone can register for TEDxBerkeley with the purchase of a ticket. Tickets are available here: http://tedxberkeley2013.eventbrite.com/ Be on the lookout for promotional codes on our Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/TEDxBerkeley) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/tedxberkeley) pages!
 
5. Oh no! I can no longer attend TEDxBerkeley! Can I get a refund or transfer my ticket?
Yes! You get a full refund until March 17th, and a 50% refund between March 18th and April 8th. No refunds will be given after April 8th. Transfers are available until April 8th. Simply email info@tedxberkeley.org for a transfer.
 
6. Can I volunteer for TEDxBerkeley?
Short answer, no. We have filled all of our volunteer positions at this time. However, if you are a photographer or videographer interested in providing your services, please contact us at info@tedxberkeley.org with your portfolio or website.
 
7. How do I nominate a speaker?

8. How long does it take for nominations to be processed?
Due to the high volume of qualified nominees we receive, review by the curating team can take anywhere from two weeks up to two months.
 
9. If I am a TEDx Organizer, can I get a special discount?
Yes, TEDx Organizers are eligible for up to 3 tickets at a 50% discount. University Organizers are eligible for up to 5 tickets at the student price. Email erin@tedxberkeley.org for details.
10. I’m a Cal Alumnus. Do I get a special discount?
 Unfortunately, TEDxBerkeley is a student-run and student-funded organization, so we are only able to offer a special discount for current UC Berkeley students and staff. However, we offer many special discounts to our Facebook friends and Twitter followers, so be on the lookout for those!
